I spoke with Dan Becker. Dan is a Data Scientist that worked for Kaggle from 2017 to 2020.
Kaggle is an online community of data scientists and machine learning practitioners that is a subsidiary of Google.
During his time at Kaggle, Dan has created a free data science training platform that grew from 3K to 30K monthly active users in its first year.
I am one of those users of Kaggle myself, having taken Dan's course. I highly recommend it if you want to get started with ML without getting overwhelmed.
Dan has started his own business called Decision.ai in the beginning of 2020.
During this conversation, Dan talked about his approach to getting started with Machine Learning which might be counterintuitive to the way most people approach ML initially.
